Programs

After-School All-Stars provides comprehensive out-of-school programs

that keep children safe and help them achieve in school and life.

After-School All-Stars San Antonio provides free programs for youth ages seven to 17 in the southern sector and west area of San Antonio. Our goal is to offer children positive alternatives to gangs, drugs and violence by providing opportunities in exciting non-traditional activities. All of our programs focus on developing skills in one or more of the following areas: technology, Education, Life Skills and Sports.

Education

Programs allow youth to build a strong foundation of basic understandings in academic concepts such as:

mathematical operation
quantitative reasoning
patterns and relationships
spatial reasoning
problem solving
communication
presentations
reading
written compositions

Life Skills

After-School All-Stars San Antonio makes becoming a healthy young adult a fun and interactive journey.

Participants learn about behaviors that they should and should not participate in while engaged in non-threatening activities.

Critical-thinking skills are practiced to avoid unsafe situations; to investigate health information and to research commercial products aimed at them.

Sports

Physical activity through a variety of activities provides a strong foundation for enjoyment and continued social development.

Cultural

Artistic expression and performance increases an awareness and sensitivity to our imagination, surroundings, and life experiences.

Through programs emphasizing creativity youth express their thoughts and ideas while challenging their imagination and fostering reflective thinking and development.
